Natural Remedies for BURNS

Using butter or olive oil on burns is an old wives tale - do not use butter or olive oil! Instead try these solutions:

Aloe. The hydrating juice of the aloe vera plant has been used for thousands of years to treat skin conditions. You can buy packaged aloe vera gel at most drugstores, and any grocery stores sell large aloe leaves. To use, cut off a small piece and squeeze out the gel, rubbing over affected area.

Vanilla can be applied to burns to reduce the chance of blistering and to alleviate the pain from burns. Note: Use pure vanilla and not imitation.

Vitamin E is integral in helping support healthy skin and in helping the body heal any kind of tissue, including the skin and lips. Add Vitamin E to your diet with sunflower, safflower and canola oils, sun-dried tomatoes, almonds and hazelnuts. You can also take vitamin E oil supplements, or prick the supplement capsules with a straight pin to squeeze out the oil and rub it directly on your skin to prevent scars or to alleviate chapped areas.
