from The New York Times
Reacting to declining sales and publicity about soft drinks’ link to obesity, both Coca-Cola and PepsiCo will introduce new carbonated beverages that are fortified with vitamins and minerals: Diet Coke Plus and Tava, which is PepsiCo’s new offering.

having choices
by Vicki_R on March 7, 2007 - 10:57am
Obviously the best thing to drink in H20, but choice is what make the world go round.  I try and have my kids stay away from sodas as well as myself, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing for companies to come out with other more healthy products, if they are truly healthier.  I'll just wait and see.

ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS ARE WORSE THAN SUGAR!!!!!
by inaiyana on March 8, 2007 - 3:44pm

WAIT AND SEE FOR WHAT? PLEASE, WHAT IS THE POINT IN ADDING VITAMINS AND MINERALS IF ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS ARE USED? NONE! JUST STICK TO GOOD OLD FASHIONED H2O/ORGANIC HERBAL TEAS/ AND ORGANIC FRUIT JUICES ETC!

AGAIN - SWEETENERS ARE NO GOOD AND EVEN WORSE THAN SUGAR. ANYTHING ARTIFICIAL IS NO GOOD BUT BESIDES THAT, SWEETENERS HAVE MEGA NEGATIVE EFFECTS.

FOR ALL TEH EVIDENCE YOU NEED JUST GO TO www.mercola.com and KEY 'ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS' INTO THE GOOGLE SEARCH ENGINE AND YOU WILL FIND PAGES OF EVIDENCE INTO HOW WE ARE BEING LIED TO, WE ARE TOLD THAT SWEETENERS ARE NOT DETRIMENTAL TO HEALTH WHEN IN FACT IT IS THE OPPOSITE. AS WITH A LOT OF THINGS, IT IS A-NOTHER MONEY MAKING SCHEME EXPLOITING THE MASSES.

THANKS FOR LISTENING

fake sugar in drinks
by jena_phelps on March 7, 2007 - 1:37pm
I've tried a couple of these flavored water drinks that are out now and it seems like most of them have either splenda are some other fake sugar substitute. Whenever I drink something that has these in it, I feel kinda sick to my stomach. So that can't be good. I think I'll just stick to plain old water.

If your looking for a drink that is good and a healthy alternative. Vitamin water from Glaceau is very tasy. They have drinks for everything you need, including an all natural energy drink that helps me a lot when studying!

more alert

What does the natural energy juice have in it that makes you able to study more?  It must have some sort of herb that keeps you focused.  Does it make you more alert?

Raising Awareness
by trinity8 on March 8, 2007 - 2:18pm

Fortunately we don't belong to the group of people who drink fizzy/soda drinks. Only thinking about the ingredients is enough to put one off. It be nice to raise more awareness about the issue, the implications as well as the result. Also, what's wrong with drinking water?

healthier soda alternatives
by Vicki_R on March 9, 2007 - 11:43am
Nothing!! That is my drink of choice, but for many people they want something sweet and carbonated.  My dad (a gingerale drinker) swears that the carbonation helps with digestion and I know my mom drinks seltzer water.  I know they sell natural sodas in Whole Foods, I have bought them there when I was sick.  If people really want to drink them, there are healthier soda alternatives.
