Following the lead of Dance Dance Revolution and Nickelodeon’s “Let’s Just Play” appeal, a handful of toy companies are introducing new “active” products that could help put a dent in childhood obesity, which has doubled since the 1970s.

Great idea

I agree that adding some activity to a video game sounds like a no brainer. I know my older son loves to watch tv and if I could get him up off the couch and get him moving, especially during the winter monthes, it would be great.  The key is getting to them young and trying to incorporate better fitness habbits.  Nothing can replace good old fashioned exercise, but anything that gets kids moving is a good thing.  I'm glad to hear about including fitness in the no child left behind campaign.  Great idea!
