It was a topsy-turvy week for environmentalists who happen to be fans of James Bond. On the upside, Pierce Brosnan was awarded Germany's Golden Camera award for his environmental stewardship. However, newer Bond Daniel Craig has reportedly purchased a new SUV so ridiculously large he can't even figure out how to park it. Optimists say Craig is very aware of the threat of global warming, and is simply ignoring it until he wows us all with a startlingly clever last-minute escape when he's tied to a sinking ice cap.
Music star Sheryl Crow and producer/eco-hero Laurie David scheduled a two-week bus tour across Texas and the Southeast, in which David and Crow will spread the word about global warming and reach out to the middle of the country. Presumably, the vehicle will be a hybrid and the emissions of the trip offset. Nonetheless, hoity-toity New York and California -based organizers of the crusade have prepared speeches explaining the apparent hypocrisy in a language they assume even the commonfolk can understand.
Melissa Etheridge, who's nominated for an Oscars for her theme song to the smash hit global warming documentary An Inconvenient Truth, is reportedly more nervous about the upcoming ceremony than she has been about the Grammys, saying, "It's a hundred times more intense. ...They have rules, and they do things by the rules." Ms. Etheridge did not specify whether these "rules" were responsible for Sylvester Stallone owning more Academy Awards than Martin Scorsese.

Rumors suggest that Travolta also occasionally dresses up as a doctor or a lawyer, but never a climatologist.
