Ronald McDonald Bribes Japanese to Go Green
Posted by Joshua W. Jackson on September 7, 2007 - 7:34am.

Ronald McDonald is the latest unlikely celebrity to join the fight against global warming. In Japan, McDonald's offered a half-off coupon for a Big Mac to customers who pledged to reduce their carbon emissions. It remains unclear whether or not the pledge goes into effect before or after the consumer devours the extremely inorganic, rainforest destroying, well-travelled lump of meat and fat.

Environmental non-profit group Heal the Bay will receive the proceeds from the Malibu Surfing Association's Classic Invitational, held on Friday and including a concert by John Doe of the renowned rock band X. Those unfamiliar with X assumed, of course, that the organizers had forgotten to book anybody and were promising a yet-to-be-determined musician.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick were spotted in a hybrid in Manhattan this week, and the person reporting the sighting praised their eco-friendly choice. In other news, NEW YORK CITY HAS A SUBWAY!

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are apparently either considering making a baby, or will soon adopt again. While population growth remains a touchy issue with rabid environmentalists, Angelina and Brad are in the clear, not because of their infant offsetting, but because their natural offspring are likely to turn out to so damn good looking.

English actress Sienna Miller recently pranced around with underwear over her pants, making claims of superherodom in a video for Global Cool. The video shocked tabloid readers around the world, not because of Miller's undies, but because she went against the grain by also wearing pants.
