Sienna Miller, Savior of the East?
Posted by Joshua W. Jackson on July 19, 2007 - 3:52pm.

Actress Sienna Miller recently teamed up with Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan to spread the word about global warming in India. Miller said to her audience in Mumbai, "If each one of us does our bit, we will be helping to keep global warming from harming our countries." Ms. Miller's trip is an excellent thing for both the oft-tabloided starlet and the East; Sienna gets to feel like she's something beyond "the Jude Law thing," and the people she's speaking to get to assume she's that eco chick from Something About Mary.

Presidential hopeful and vegan/environmental activist Dennis Kucinich was hospitalized this week with a bad case of food poisoning and embarrassingly low poll numbers. Doctors monitoring his case believe the symptoms are a result of too many years of eating humble pie.

Non-presidential hopeful Al Gore said on Wednesday that humanity is in "a race" to save itself from the dangers presented by climate change. "I'm optimistic," he went on to say, "but we're losing this battle badly." Confused Gore followers were left wondering whether to run or fight, but ultimately walked away with the message that global warming is both a race and a battle, sort of like American Gladiators.

Leonardo DiCaprio and the new cable station Planet Green are teaming up to deliver a 13 part series called "Eco-Town," which will be about the green reconstruction of a small Kansas town that was devastated by a tornado. Hollywood insiders say the show was pitched as "An Inconvenient Truth meets Twister."

Spread the word

Glad to hear our celebs are still working to spread the good word about environmental issues. Just wish we all had voices that were as loud and could be heard by all. Heck, I can't even get my husband to take up the cause. Maybe we all just need to do things as notable as Leo......

Well I am happy that our celibrities care about other things besides making money and partying. I like how the Celebs that really do care make sure that their voices are heard. I thank them for doing that cause a "little" person like me would not be able to get my voice heard like they do, so I thank them for everything that they have done and said! Thank you Leo....sigh...

This person, Sienna Miller is after nothing but publicity. Her behavior in Pittsburgh, during the filming of her upcoming movie leaves me to believe she cares nothing about anything but where the cameras are and the next party.
