This week, PETA reminded the world that vegetarianism is as much about health as it is environmentalism and animal welfare by cruelly lambasting Michael Moore for his size. "There's an elephant in the room, and it is you," wrote PETA president, Ingrid Newkirk in a letter to the controversial documentarian. The irony, of course, is that if Moore were in fact an elephant, PETA wouldn't dare speak ill of him. And his ability to make movies would be positively alarming.

Our friends at Grist have compiled a list of their 15 favorite green music acts. Thom Yorke, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, and Willie Nelson all make the list. Moby also appears. Interestingly, his rival Eminem is nowhere to be found. Allow us to be the first to predict the revival—and greening—of the lamest feud in music history.

George Clooney recently took a stand against unnecessary development by his multi-million dollar villa on Lake Como, Italy. Clooney helped to organize other residents of the area and held a meeting in his home, eventually even threatening to move if the construction were to begin despite the wishes of locals. Shortly after Clooney's actions, the mayor said, "I decided to give up the project." Analysts say that the town's administrator's will continue to follow Clooney's will until somebody comes up with blueprints to biologically engineer an actual live cashcow.

Queen Latifah is lending her voice to a new film that highlights the dangers climate change is placing on animals in the Arctic Circle, and Starbucks recently announced plans to aggressively promote the film in stores. Environmentalists suspect that Starbucks is using the movie to lay the groundwork for new shop openings throughout both poles.

On Wednesday the Washington Post released a report stating that Vice President Dick Cheney frequently uses his civic and professional power to undercut the environment in favor of various business ventures, with little thought of the consequences. In a related story, several thousand people confused the midweek morning edition of the Post for the Obvious Daily Herald.
