Kobe Bryant Joins the Fight (Seriously)
Posted by Joshua W. Jackson on May 25, 2007 - 6:18am.

Kobe Bryant is among the latest to join Laurie David's Virtual March to Stop Global Warming, writing "I am marching as a Leader, a Player, and as a Father." Lakers fans were glad that Kobe cares, but they really just wish he could manage to march the team past the first round of the playoffs.

The New York Times ran an article about Ed Begley, Jr. and his green lifestyle last week, because apparently a whole reality television series about the man's home life just isn't enough information. Asked about his "least green habit," Begley said, "There are moments when we get takeout." The horror!

One of America's favorite stars, Julia Roberts, is set to play murdered British conservationist Joan Root, who spent her life fighting to protect fish and wildlife in Kenya and was eventually murdered by suspected poachers. Hollywood insiders already predict the movie will bring Julia a best actress Oscar, unless Meryl Streep starts making a movie wherein she plays a blind, deaf, one-legged woman who dies while trying to save a beached whale.

Jail-bound heiress Paris Hilton is in the mood for some light-hearted viewing before she heads to the slammer, as evidenced by the fact that she rented Happy Feet—the movie about the tap-dancing penguin that some right wing nutjobs famously referred to as "an animated Inconvenient Truth." Either Paris doesn't mind that the movie may contain slanted subtle messages, or she simply has confidence that whatever they are, she won't pick up on them.

Thanks for the info on the new Julia Roberts movie, sounds like it may be a good one. I remember reading about Joan Root and what happened to her, it was terrible. One woman trying so hard to make a difference and she is murdered because of her fight to protect the wildlife in Kenya.

Thanks for all the updates, Joshua. Your articles are appreciated!
