>> Make Time For Lunch—and join the National Day of Action to get real food in schools. Support healthy food by joining an eat-in and sitting down with your neighbors share a meal at an event near you on Labor Day, Sept. 7, 2009. Urges Slow Food USA, the eco-foodie group coordinating the day of action, “With your help, Sept. 7, 2009 will mark the day this country comes together to take the first step towards a future where no child is denied his or her right to be healthy and where every child enjoys real food.”

>> Join the new campaign called Green The Block to serve your community and promote environmental justice plus green jobs! On Sept. 11, Green The Block will have its first event: a National Service Day with volunteer and educational events across the country. Check the site to find an event near you. Green For All and the Hip Hop Caucus have put together the campaign to “educate and mobilize communities of color to ensure a voice and stake in the clean-energy economy.”
