World Oceans Day happens June 8 — and you can celebrate it by watching a new fishy film, tuning into an edge-of-the-seat documentary series, or learning about our beaches.

>> The End Of The Line, an environmental documentary about the effects of overfishing narrated by Ted Danson, hits theaters this month. Find a screening happening on World Ocean Day near you, or watch it in the theaters starting June 19.

>> The second season of Animal Planet’s Whale Wars shows the fight between eco-activists (or eco terrorists?) and illegal whale hunters (or scientists?), featuring the sometimes-dangerous clashes between the Japanese whaling program and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Tune in to Animal Planet this Friday, June 5 at 9 pm to catch the season premier.
