Out-of-the-box Green Valentine’s Day Guide
Posted by Siel on February 9, 2009 - 10:04pm.

You mean to start early every year, but the last-minute Valentine’s Day prep always happens late. On the upside, waiting until the last minute means you get to reap the benefit of all the eco-Valentine’s Day articles and blog posts that have been published! Here’s how to get ready for Feb. 14, 2009, procrastinator’s style:

>> How to have sex in a cute eco car. Treehugger originally put up a Barbie-illustrated guide to four positions to try — but it appears that page’s been taken down! Perhaps Barbies getting busy was too much for Treehugger editors. Luckily The Frisky’s reposted the tips.

>> Eco Kinks For The Eccentric Valentine. Get your Recycled Black Satin Bondage Set and your Eco-Friendly Studded Backside Whacker too. The less adventurous can opt for the Black Organic Bamboo Jersey Mag Leotard with White Frill.

>> Free fair trade chocolates for the socially-conscious entrepreneur. Lend $20 via MicroPlace, a Kiva-like business that lets you to make microloans to the working poor AND get a one to three percent return on your investment. You could make that loan in the name of a loved one — the money you invest will stay your own loan, but the honoree will get a box of fair trade chocolate hearts from Divine Chocolate plus a gift card about microfinance.

For more about MicroPlace, read “Small Change Changes the World” — written by yours truly! Whether you’re single or restricted — just kidding! I mean committed — many lovely wishes for eco-sensual satisfaction and eco-nomical health this month!
