Location: Blaggard's Pub
Key Ingredients: Fish, chips
Gmark's Take: Definitely not living the change
Today's lunch holds special meaning for me. You see, in my pre-LIME days, I used to work at SCIFI.com. For a time, we were owned by Barry Diller's Internet behemoth, IAC/InterActiveCorp. IAC bought Ask.com a few years ago. Ask.com used to be called AskJeeves. It's mascot was Jeeves the Butler. The character of Jeeves was made famous on the big screen by noted Merv Griffin sidekick Arthur Treacher. In his later years, Arthur Treacher became the greatest fish & chips mogul the world has ever known (with apologies to Mr. Long John Silver). So you can clearly see why I would have an affinity for this particular meal.
Sure, it's certainly not the greenest, healthiest lunch I could have. In fact it's downright beige. But today's lunch gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling of well-being, and isn't that what it's all about?
BTW, is that a beer I'm having with my lunch?
