I have been scouring all known earthly networks to bring you the freshest reports on paranormal, extranormal, and outright surreal events. This week:

  • A Malaysian man haunted by a hungry ghost who has demanded sex from him every night for the past 16 years seeks help through medium. Read more.
  • A woman receiving treatment for diabetes at a state-run hospital in eastern India lost one of her eyes after ants nibbled away at it. Read more.
  • A film-maker is invited to take part in a secret ceremony of the Brazilian religion Santo Daime, where followers drink a hallucinogenic jungle brew. Read more.
  • “Dad, I love you and probably won’t never see you again” bid a US soldier leaving for Iraq. Now he is dead, as predicted by psychic. Read more.
  • Only in India: a straight faced newspaper editorial about how advances in science and technology are helping us to understand the “the mind of an advanced alien of type IV civilization.” Read more.

This is truly strange stuff.

Does anybody read Harper’s Weekly Review?

It often lists strange occurrences you don’t hear about in too many other places.

I’ll check the Harper’s website, but for the moment I have google alert bots and del.icio.us feeds set for keywords that might indicate a worthy “Beyond” style news item.

I am searching for nutrient supplementation for 7 families here in Leverett MA who for 4 generations (since 1924) have lived almost under a 115 kiloVolt high-voltage power line with 1,500 volts per meter radiation always present in their houses and have experienced early deaths and strokes, 7-8 hip replacements in 2 generations, bypasses and pacemakers, children now adults who manifest not very complicated personalities. Life Extension Foundation has recommendations for adjuvent therapy after radiation treatments, but that’s all I can find.
