Researchers at Harvard Medical School found that for every hour of TV viewing, 3-year-old children consumed more sweetened beverages and roughly 46 more calories each day; TV does not necessarily have the same negative impact on children’s exercise.

I think that all the advertisments for food on most kids shows are for unhealthy food.  When was the last time you saw an ad for organic fruit roll-ups on Nickelodeon?  My kids get the darndest ideas from watching their shows and I wouldn't be surprised if their need for Go-pops came from watching "Where's Raven".
